Hey b, Allie here. It has been exactly a month into quarantine and I've decided that it's time. It's time for me to do something more with my time so that when I'm 80 years old, I can say I cured myself of the worst affliction, boredom.

I've said it a few times. The way that we interact with one another after quarantine ends.. will likely be very different. The change will also likely be short-lived. But that doesn't mean that the lessons that we take away from this experience should disappear as well. It strikes me as odd that I keep hearing complaints about lockdown and heard it be likened to being stuck in prison... Despite the similarities of us being stuck in captivity, it doesn't necessarily need to be viewed this way. There's always a positive spin that can be made on your situation. After all, we cannot change what happens in life but we can change how we react to what occurs when it does. The same can be said about this point in time.

A great start in changing your morning habits and your outlook on the current situation is to create a sense of gratitude for yourself. Document it. Let yourself know what it is that you feel most grateful for and what basic amenities you have or lack of ailments that makes you happiest to wake up in the morning.

Why do this?

  • Because it will remind you of what you have instead of what you do not have. This reminder of what you can control, what benefits you will always make you feel better about your current state of being.

  • Because being grateful has been proven to make people happier. Even if you're at your wits end, you can think of how much you appreciate that you're able to see, breathe or even LIVE. That is what we seem to take most for granted. The reality that we're alive and we have the ability to have thoughts and feelings. We're ALIVE, damn it. Let's not forget the beauty in that, alone.

So, let's get started. This blog is now dedicated to myself and to everyone reading it. I want you to feel that while I have some great coping mechanisms for breakups, anxiety and depression.. this does not mean that I have all the answers. I am always open to hearing your thoughts and your own lifestyle choices that work for you. I love collaborating with others and to spread knowledge so that we can gain more perspective.

Thanks so much for reading. Love you lots and I look forward to our days ahead...

Quarantine Queens & everyone else.

Love,

Allie x
